If you are charged with a DUI in the state of Florida it is important that you are familiar with the relatively new ten day law. Whether you refuse to take a breathalyzer test or blow over the .08 blood alcohol level, you have 10 days in which to request a special hearing with Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Bureau of Administrative Reviews (DHSMV BAR) in order to attempt to retain your drivers license. Failure to set a hearing will most likely mean the suspension / loss of your driving privileges for 6 months and as much as 18 months of supervision.
